June is a time for honoring and remembering those in the LGBTQIA+ community, including those we have lost. Peekskill Pride and the gallery at Sun River Health Center are commemorating artist Chick Byrne (1987-2023). Chick created art that portrayed human connection and unrealized potential, with the intention for people to recognize the beauty within themselves. His colorful artistic expression conveys this message, aiming to show that trauma, fear, and abuse do not define us but contribute to our growth and learning. His symbols, images, and expressions represent the human body as energy perceived in our reality, offering a sense of hope.
